Hints in using elitel resins

Hint 1.

UNITIKA "elitel" resins exhibit excellent adhesiveness to various materials, and additional heating allows further increase in adhesiveness to the substrates due to the softening and increase in fluidity of the resins, as they are thermoplastic resins. UNITIKA "elitel" resins have various grades with a wide range of glass transition temperature, softening point, and molecular weight to meet the requirements for application in a wide temperature range. Blending of a UNITIKA "elitel" resin with another elitel or another resin allows expansion of the applicative fields.

Hint 2.

UNITIKA "elitel" resins, except hot melt type resins, are used generally as dissolved in organic solvent. Refer to the solubility parameter of the UNITIKA "elitel" resins in selecting the solvent. Commonly use solvents are low-boiling solvents such as toluene, MEK, ethyl acetate, and the mixture of these solvents; and high-boiling solvents such as cyclohaxanone, petroleum solvent and the mixture of these solvents.

Hint 3.

UNITIKA "elitel" resins are saturated copolymeric polyester resins, which have hydroxyl and carboxyl groups at the molecular-chain terminals. Reactions of the resins with a suitable hardening agent (isocyanate, melamine, epoxy resin, or the like) allow further increase in various properties and performance of the UNITIKA "elitel" resins. When combined with a hardening agent, UNITIKA "elitel" resins increases their hardness, heat resistance, chemical resistance, flexibility, coatability, adhesiveness, and others. In addition, combined use of other resins other than a hardening agent also allows increase in properties.
