What is an “Oxygen barrier” ?

“Oxygen barrier” refers to a property to limit oxygen permeation.
Oxygen can have deteriorative effects on food colors, flavors, and other constituents and can cause food spoilage in several ways.
The ingredients in a pouch with low oxygen barrier property will become oxidized, degraded, decayed or discolored. Therefore, high oxygen barrier film is preferable to extend the shelf-live of the contents.
