Nylon Resin

UNITIKA Nylon 6

(2) Electrical Properties

UNITIKA nylon 6 resins have not only excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties, but also excellent electrical properties, and thus are used widely as general insulating materials, such as connectors, pressure terminals, coil bobbins, switch parts, and others.

Dielectric Breakdown Strength

The dielectric breakdown strength is a voltage an insulating material endures and also is an indicator of the insulating performance of materials. In Figure 11 and 12 shown are the relationships between the dielectric breakdown strength and water content and between it and temperature. (Test piece thickness: 2 mm)

Specific Volume Resistivity

The specific volume resistivity is an indicator of the electric resistivity of materials, and is greatly affected by water content and temperature. In Figure 13 and 14 shown are the relationships between the specific volume resistivity and water content and between it and temperature.
